Farmers Market

I’ve made it a habit to look for and attend local farmer markets. This farmers market was located in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Tuesdays and Saturday.

Since it’s the fall and 2nd to last farmers market of the year… The market consisted of fall vegetables (pumpkins, onions, potatoes, kohlrabi, Squash, etc.), honey, kettle corn, baked goods. The only craft item I can think of was drinking bottles with decorative exteriors. I might need to start looking for fall craft shows :-).

I purchased a Kohlrabi. I’m looking forward to trying a Food Network recipe to make roast kohlrabi. It’s supposed to be similar to roasted potatoes. I plan to cook in the toaster oven Mom gave me. Our camper oven only has one gas heating strip. So, the oven takes forever to heat up (at least 30 minutes) and has trouble getting above 350 F. I also plan to slice the kohlrabi and put on a salad.

John has never eaten or seen kohlrabi. So, I’m looking forward to his feedback. That is if he decides to try it :-).
