Alfredo Sauce using Parmesan & Mozzarella Cheese

John really likes Chicken Alfredo but unfortunately the seasoning packet mix and bottled sauces have never made the cut. At the same time come up with a recipe where most of the ingredients are normally available in the trailer… Below is what I’ve came up with… That John said was ok with additional salt and pepper.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 TBPN Butter
  • 1 C heavy whipping cream (Next time I’m going to try with condensed milk. Condensed milk in other dishes has been a great substitute for cream. And always in the pantry :-).
  • 1 TBSN stir in Garlic paste. (I keep the Aldi Simply Nature tube in the fridge. It’s easy to use and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Though it is slightly less potent than fresh minced garlic)
  • 1/8 tspn ground white or black pepper
  • 1/8 cup parmesan. I used Aldis shredded parmesan that I also use in my salads
  • 3/8 cup whole shredded mozzarella cheese. I used whole vs. low fat cheese.

Cooking Steps

  1. Melt the butter in a small pot. Butter should be bubbling.
  2. Reduce temp to low and add the garlic paste to the bubbling butter. Cooking until fragrant. I did not brown the garlic.
  3. Add cream and pepper. Mix well. Cook until bubbling on low with constant stirring.
  4. Add parmesan and continually stir until melted. The sauce should slightly thicken.
  5. Add mozzarella cheese and stir until melted. Sauce should be desired thickness.
  6. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
