John really likes Chicken Alfredo but unfortunately the seasoning packet mix and bottled sauces have never made the cut. At the same time come up with a recipe where most of the ingredients are normally available in the trailer… Below is what I’ve came up with… That John said was ok with additional salt and pepper.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 TBPN Butter
- 1 C heavy whipping cream (Next time I’m going to try with condensed milk. Condensed milk in other dishes has been a great substitute for cream. And always in the pantry :-).
- 1 TBSN stir in Garlic paste. (I keep the Aldi Simply Nature tube in the fridge. It’s easy to use and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Though it is slightly less potent than fresh minced garlic)
- 1/8 tspn ground white or black pepper
- 1/8 cup parmesan. I used Aldis shredded parmesan that I also use in my salads
- 3/8 cup whole shredded mozzarella cheese. I used whole vs. low fat cheese.
Cooking Steps
- Melt the butter in a small pot. Butter should be bubbling.
- Reduce temp to low and add the garlic paste to the bubbling butter. Cooking until fragrant. I did not brown the garlic.
- Add cream and pepper. Mix well. Cook until bubbling on low with constant stirring.
- Add parmesan and continually stir until melted. The sauce should slightly thicken.
- Add mozzarella cheese and stir until melted. Sauce should be desired thickness.
- Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
