Growing up I always remember the albino deer at Fort McCoy. It was special when you caught sight of one.
At Foss State Park visitors center, I learned that white deer exist that are not albino. There are white deer that have a little brown on them and the eyes are not red but brown. These deer are called “piebald”.
Foss State Park had a piebald until someone accidentally hit it with car. The deer now reside in the park as memory of his unique genes.

The white on the back hoof and eyes make him a piebald versus albino.
