Wind, Sand and Sunsets. Oh My..

Foss State Park is currently under a draught warning, always has winds and has beautiful red soil. The area has been known as the dust bowl and hit hard in the 1930s where the dust storm devastated the Great Plains.

We got to experience 3 alerts all at the same time. The alerts related to high wind (>70 mph wind gusts), poor air quality, sandstorms (including instructions on what to do), etc. Only thing not included was a rain advisory which the area desperately needs

This is the first time I’ve experienced such a unique wind / sandstorm. We’ve experience 70 mph wind gust before. So, this wasn’t new. The amount of sand in the air was new. I started taking pictures throughout the day to document the change. I thought you might like to see the pictures.

Any finally a sunset where the sun and clouds could be seen. It was a beautiful sunset from a very windy sandy day!
