Guersney, WY, April 2025

Guernsey has some of the best trail ruts I have seen so far. The wheels created about 3-foot-high ridges in the rock. I feel sorry for the animals that had to pull the wagons.

The area had many signs about what was like and history of traveling west. I thought you might like to read them. If you touch or click on the picture, the picture will expand.

These signs were posted along the 1/2-mile trail to and around the ruts.

I liked the looks of the dead tree. I don’t believe the picture did the tree justice though.

In this picture you can see the town of Guernsey, WY in the distance.

And finally, the must have selfies 🙂

One response to “Oregon Trail Ruts”
The old road between Dads house and the arch used to be that rutted but it was all mud and my brothers and sisters spent a lot of time pushing the car out while Dad tried to drive that old road. Who thought we would have interstates eventually.
