Run Away Truck Prevention

Bighorn National Forest, WY, May 2025

On the drive into Bighorn National Forest, we saw this odd concrete corral that looked like excessive protection for a scenic view. As we drove by, John saw a sign with something about trucks, and he deduced it was a run away truck pull off. At the first scenic stop, there was a truck brake test lane with more information.

If you drive a large truck, you should understand the need for down shifting on hills without the need for a sign. If you currently drive a big truck and do not understand this, go do a Google search, right now. We will wait for you to get back.

That was an excessive amount of concrete to protect a tourist; it is not so excessive for stopping semi trucks.

They even have testimonials! “I used CatchNET, and it saved my life!” The people that did not use CatchNET, when they needed it, did not have much to say one way or the other.
