Yellowstone National Park Day 11: Part 2

Yellowstone National Park, WY, May 2025

This is for everyone that loves the selfies and nonprofessional looking photos from my phone 🙂

As John said in the Day 11 original, post we went through Hayden Valley first. This is a large grazing area for animals. Though no baby buffaloes. I thought you would like a panoramic view of the area. The pull off also had signs about the area and the local buffalo.

As we continued north, we were just past Tower Falls at the pull off next to Calcite Springs, and we saw the mountain goats. I wanted to provide a perspective on how close the goat was to John.

Probably not even a mile down the road we saw the 2 adult black bears and the cub near Rainy Lake. People are always talking about traffic jams and people not following the rules of “pull over off the road outside the white line”. Needless to say, most people don’t follow the “off the road” rule. I think it took us 20 minutes or so to get through the jam.

When we stopped at the bridge for the Osprey nest, I thought the rapids was beautiful.

Lamar Valley looks quite a bit like Hayden Valley except for quite a few more animals. I’m not sure if the animals migrate to the Hayden Valley later in the year.

As we approached the west entrance we were in the Absaroka Mountain Range. Barronette peak had many small waterfalls as the snow melted from the mountain tops.

I hope you enjoyed viewing our Day 11 Yellowstone National Park adventures.
