I absolutely love going to Welcome to Centers. They usually have tons of tourist brochures on must see places. The Alabama Welcome Center was no different. The building had artwork outside. My favorite was the turtle filled with plastic bottles. A reminder that plastic bottles that end up in the sea are endanger our sea turtle survival. Please throw waste in garbage bins not in lakes, rivers, oceans, etc.

Did you know that Alabama was the 22nd US State and became a state in 1814?

I did not take a picture of all the metal arts. They had a pelican, grouper and many others.

I believe the art below was to showcase the various famous people and events from Alabama’s history.

Can you see the family that photobombed (accidentally) the above picture?
The visitor center had an extremely knowledgeable host and brochures galore. I had so much fun learning about all of the interesting places to go. To the point where John came in reminded me needed to get back on the road. Especially since most of the travel day was in the rain… John was right and we did need to go. I tend to lose track of time and everything around me when given the opportunity to explore places to go. I’m like a kid in a candy store.
