Folsom, LA, March 2026
Each time we drove to Covington, Louisiana, we passed by “The Salvage Store”. The store always had cars in front of it. To me this means it is well-liked by the locals and a good place to stop. Usually, I would think of mixing the words salvage and food is not a good thing. It makes you wonder if the food scraps from restaurants or compost material is sold at the store.
It turns out that the store mostly contained close to expiration or expired food. The store had a broad selection of items including fruits, vegetables, meats (fresh, frozen, and deli meat), frozen food, bakery items, and dry foods.
We purchased 5 items for $6.41.

The store reminded me of the Amish Bent and Dent store. I would definitely shop here again.
