Chickasaboque Park Campground

Mobile, AL, March 2026

Chickasabogue Park campground has recently been updated to be similar to Escatawpa Hollow Park and Campground. The RV section had all new cement RV pads and black top parking spaces for the vehicles. The cement pads were not as long as Escatawpa (40 feet). The campground area had a lot of tree cover. The tree cover would make parking and Starlink internet difficult in most spots.

Chickasaboque Park has more developed ammenities than Escatawpa. For example, Chickasaboque had 14 miles of hiking trails, disc golf, beach area, playground, multisport field (basketball, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, etc.) and bike trails. The campground has a brand new bathhouse and free laundry. The laundry room had 4 washers and dryers that were identical to Escatawpa.

Since this is a Mobile County Park, reservations can be make 1 year in advance and you can stay for up to 1 month. The rates are based on daily, weekly and monthly. Current rates are $42 / Day, $225 / week and $600 / month.

Because of the concern with trees making parking difficult or limited Starlink internet, we drove through and picked out sites to book and definitely not book.

Tops sites to book:

  1. Site 37
  2. Site 17
  3. Site 27
  4. Site 24

Sites not to book:

Sites: 16, 18, 35, 14

Internet Speed Tests:

Cricket (AT&T): Using 4G – Down 42, Up 0.42, latency 22 ms.

Cricket (AT&T): Using 5G+ – Down 34, Up 0.37, latency 21 ms

TMobile Hot Spot – Using 4G – Down 47, Up 22, latency

Another concern with the park is the road into the park. It is maintained by the county, and many of the trees do not seem to be trimmed high enough for 5th wheel RVs. There is a concern with damaging the roof driving into the park.
