Is that a Dragon Fly or a Flagon Dry?

Escatawpa Hollow State Park, AL, April 2026

Have you even seen a Dragonfly trip? We think his blood alcohol content is above the legal limit.

We think he was hanging out under our steps to get out of the wind. This just happened to be a lucky sequence of pictures when a gust of wind came through.

He let us get within about ten inches of him to get pictures.

The front on one looks like it is grinning, but I do not think that is a mouth. It looks like a Southern Hawker, but those are found in Europe. It might be a Twin Striped Clubtail (Gomphus Geminatus).

When John left the RV to disconnect the water, the dragonfly hopped away from the steps. Later, John found him on the lock of the cabinet door he needed to open, so he transplanted him to the water spigot. After than, we lost track of him.
