I gave a “blue trail” (look for Y on the map) another try. This light blue trail started by the pickle-ball court, which was put in last year. We walked the entire trail and did not see any blue markers. We did see blue drainage pipes with dark blue caps instead of light blue. The spot on the map marked Z was the end of the trail, which was by one of the campground loops.

We walked the campground loop and went to “The Lorax” from Dr Suess. I would call this a trail but the area was no larger than twice our campsite.

For some reason, there was a bridge and canoe in the same area. The canoe was screwed into wooden stands so no one could take it and did not have oars. I’m not sure if kids were suppose to sit in it and pretend they were rowing or if one of the Dr Suess books had a canoe in it.

From here, we walked the storybook trail. The trail had 15 storyboards along the path. The trail path was graveled and had benches.

The interesting part is that the storybook trail also had blue markers!!

As it turns out, Ohio has the Buckeye Trail, which also happens to use blue markers. Fortunately, the storybook trail had signs to keep you on the storybook trail vs the Buckeye Trail. This is good because the Buckeye trail circles the state.

Apparently, “The Lorax” is in the “Natural Playground”. Each of the storyboards had a sound or phrase to remember and repeat before the next board. John did a great job with memorizing and saying them. The video might take a minute to load.

From here, we walked back home to an air conditioned trailer and relaxed for the evening.
