• Locals think crime (theft) is an issue in Wilmer, but statistics suggest (aside from an isolated quadruple murder), that it is no worse then other towns in AL.

• The bath house is the storm shelter with the caveat that it may not be suitable for that purpose.

• All 32 sites are 50/30/20 amp full hookup, a water station should not be needed
• The loop for the dump station is tiny, a 35+’ RV would have issues dumping. This should not be an issue with all sites being full hookups.
• Water quality and water pressure are good.

• A 1.1 mile nature trail and about 0.9 miles on a crushed gravel trail around the park.
• There is an extension planned for the park, but the railroad is posing issues.
• There are attractions, but they are mostly 30+ minutes away

• Most sites have double wide concrete pads with asphalt parking for two cars
• The middle area is popup campers only, likely due to people with large trailers getting stuck on the turn

• Free laundry in the shower room. The dryer is extremely high up and requires a step stool or John’s assistance to remove cloths. Some of the dryers require adding a coin to run. The coin goes in a slot that is returned to you.
• Park is well maintained
• They had an Easter event in 2026, so they may be trying to build community engagement.
• Forest around the campground and some large trees in the middle mean many sites will be partially obstructed for Starlink. There are a few sites that are unobstructed.
• The plan was to add a camp store later in 2026

• Bathrooms are in very good condition and very usable. Separate men’s and women’s with stalls for showers and restroom.
