Truncated Hike via Selfie

Summit Lake State Park, IL, July 2028

The temperature finally cooled off enough for us to go for a walk. As usual, I remember the walk through selfies.

In this case, I took a few but not as many as Trail #2. This was our 1st and only attempt during the our stay at Summit Lake for Trail #1. The first issues was finding the beginning of the trail. We could see the water and knew the trail followed along the waters edge.

We drove down to the boat ramp and saw what appeared to be a trail. The trail was very short, had a pier, and had a kayak access point, but it was not trail #1.

We started down another trail. This trail also was not #1.

Finally, we found the trail #1 starting point.

We started walking down the trail with no issues, until the killer mosquitoes found us. They were vicious and attacked with fierce blood sucking determination. Being the wuss that I am, we turned around.

As we walked back to the car, we saw a butterfly along the road. Fortunately, the mosquitos stopped attacking near the parking lot.

Finally, back to the mosquito free car.
