• There probably is poison ivy, but it was not prevalent, when we were there.
• There is short term RV parking at Fishing Bridge RV Park check-in. Not all campgrounds have RV spots, so not all will have space at check-in.
• A vehicle pass is $35 for a 7 day pass to enter the park. Once in the park, you are not charged. For longer stays, visiting the Grand Tetons, or grocery runs, consider an $80 annual America the Beautiful pass.
• Roads and bridges can be on the narrow side, and tourists blocking the road make it worse.
• Roads and bridges should be adequate for normal cars and RVs, but they are not rated for oversized loads or weights.
• Most roads are adequate, but there are some gravel side roads and heavy traffic roads with bad wear. Frost heaves are a problem too. They are natural speed bumps.

• The main office is in Mammoth, but more campgrounds and hotels have some form of office.
• There is a post office in Mammoth Hot Springs and Lake Village. There is likely at least one more.
• The towns/villages in the park often have some form of store, nature center, and/or museum. Several town/village buildings are historic, such as the Old Faithful Lodge.
• There are limited rentals in the park. Mostly, it is bear spray and bikes. Bridge Bay Marina has motorboat rentals.
• The Fishing Bridge RV Park check-in building appeared sturdy. The village of Fishing Bridge has several large public buildings. Not all campgrounds have a large building.
• Flush bathrooms are available at towns, villages, and campgrounds. Vault toilets are sprinkled around the park.
• Many of the camp sites allow tents or RVs, but they are limited to shorter RVs.
• Fishing Bridge RV park has some 310 sites with 50 Amp full-hookup utilities. The 172 sites in E loop have concrete pads with some sites allowing for 40′ RVs plus vehicles.

• Stations vary by campground. The distance is large enough that between campground amenities are not useful.
• Recycling includes Glass, Plastic, Cans, and Cardboard.
• Power went out during our visit, but it was a transformer failing. Park personnel warn that power can brown out in the summer with all the A/Cs.

• Naturalists (Rangers) are at many visitor centers, nature centers, or museums. Sometimes they setup displays at popular park sites.
• Kayaking and canoeing are allowed on some lakes, but not on rivers.
• Swimming is highly discouraged, and the few places are often closed due to wildlife or unsafe water.
• Road biking is on all park roads, but it might not be that safe with the bears and reckless tourists.
• Biking is not typically allowed on trails, but they are allowed on the dirt roads.
• Technically, Lake Village has an employee disc golf course, but it is not officially maintained or for public use. Some goals are buckets.

• Read a Yellowstone National Park tour guide to determine when the things you want to see are visible in the park.
• Visit from mid-May to mid-June and September to mid-October. The families and mosquitos ruin the experience from mid-June to September.
• You can book in two week intervals, buy you have to talk to a person to get them linked to prevent moving in the middle of the stay.
• The park is enormous. You should plan for at least a week to get a reasonable experience.
  • If you are staying in hotels or cabins, consider relocating halfway through.
  • If you are staying in a small campground, consider relocating twice.
  • If you are in a large RV, expect some long days to see the other side of the park.
• Fishing Bridge RV Park Loop E is modernized, but expect your site to suck. There is no real maintenance of the grass and weeds, by design. Expect to have your chairs on the concrete.
• Most other campgrounds have narrower roads and smaller sites. These are cheaper, but they require smaller campers or tents to safely fit. They are also no full hookups.
• Carry bear spray everywhere, except, maybe, at visitor centers. Expect people to beg you to spray them with your bug spray. It will be hard, but resist the urge to squirt them with bear spray.
• Watch the road; animal jams can appear anywhere at any time during the day. They are uncommon at night, but then you have to be careful of hitting an animal.
• Elk and Bison are common, but they still result in animal jams, especially mid-June to August.
• Bear jams can be bad, and people are rude about blocking the road.
• There are vault toilets spread around the park.
• There are gas stations in the park.
• The main restaurants are the park managed grills, which are expensive and mediocre. If you can wait two weeks between visits, the food tastes better.
• Expect some snow in May

We got more park pictures than you can shake a stick at.

If you want more pictures, do a search on Yellowstone.

• Dump Station is across from the check-in office on the far side of the recycle island. It appears to have a single dump and potable water. The sites should be full hookup, so it might be intended for use by other campgrounds.
• The laundry, bathrooms, and showers are in the check-in office building.
• The bathrooms are gender divided with shower and restroom stalls.
• There are about 10 showers for each gender, you get a ticket for two showers per day per site. (i.e., a family of 4 gets showers every other day.)
• There are at least 10 washers and dryers, and it might be closer to 20.
• There is ice cream for sale in the store.

• Loop A-D are gravel sites. Loop E are concrete sites.
• Packed a bit thick and tight in the RV Park, but you should spend most time out and about.
• Did not see much poison ivy
• Wild animals, including bears, are sometimes seen near Fishing Bridge. Driving to bath house or carrying bear spray is safest
• Location is good for seeing the Lake, Central, South, and East of the park
