April 2025

Park Information:
- Large CCC park with multiple campgrounds. The only campgrounds with electric (20,30 and 50 amp) and water at each site is Sandy Beach and Sandy Point.
- The park had 8 hiking trails totaling 12.4 miles. The downside is that many of the trails are not loops. So, you have to traverse farther to get back to the car. All the trails would be considered moderate to hard due to constantly going up and down hills. See trail map at bottom of blog.
- Sites can only be reserved after May 15th. It used to be May 1st and recently changed. Signs and postings have not been updated.
- There is 1 bathhouse located at the headquarters office. The bathhouse does not open until May 1st and is not in walking distance from the campsites.
- The showers are pay showers and change machine is located next to the bathhouse. The website states 50 cents for 3 minutes.
- The park does not have washing machines. Guernsey is located with 5 miles of the park and has a laundromat. $2 for washing and 25 cents for unknown number of minutes for drying.
- Wyoming State Park are expensive (especially since the parks have no sewer hookups, 1 shower house throughout the park and shower house not located in campgrounds.) Mostly because you have to pay a camping fee for each car staying overnight at the campground. Even if only 1 campsite is used.
- Daily fee would be $76 for 2 cars and 5th wheel trailer. Daily cost breakdown: 1st vehicle = $43 ($18 campsite + $10 for electric + $12 daily car fee + $3 tax) and 2nd vehicle = $33 ($18 campsite fee and $12 daily car fee + $3 tax).
- When staying 7 days or longer with 2 cars, you should purchase Annual Wyoming Park passes for each car. Reason is that Annual passes costs $144 and 7 daily pass costs $168.
- Cost of 2 week stay for 2 cars and 5th wheel: $788 + tax. This makes Wyoming the most expensive park without full amenities.
- The roads are a mix of gravel and paved.
- The last mile or so to Sandy Point consist of gravel road that feels like a tank went through and created consistent ruts. The fastest you would want to go with a trailer would be 5 mph. The roads in the campground are peat gravel which is better than the main the main road.
- The roads to the hiking trails and points of interest consist of loose gravel, steep climbs and twist & turns. The roads are narrow, and I’d hate to meet up with someone coming the other direction.
