Yellowstone National Park Day 15

Yellowstone National Park, WY, June 2025

We planned a more relaxed day since we hiked over 6 miles the day before, so we started the day out by sleeping in, which neither cat was happy about. Since both cats prefer an early morning soft food meal. Needless to say, Cleo came into the room multiple times yelling at me to get up.

Once up, we completed a couple posts and ate bacon and cheese omelets. Then, we discussed plans for the day. We decided to drive through Hayden Valley looking for birds that we haven’t seen yet. In the evening, I wanted to sit on Fishing Bridge hoping to see and eagle or owl.

Hayden Valley was a great success. We saw 2 non-breeding Trumpeter Swans. Then, we were really lucky and saw a white-faced ibis. The white face ibis is rare in Yellowstone and an extremely pretty bird. John walked down a steep embankment to get a close picture of the ibis. I did not join him because I was worried about tumbling down the embankment. Can you find John in the pictures? Hint: John was wearing white shorts and a blue shirt.

John will do a separate post with the White Face Ibis and other animals of the day.

The road had multiple pullovers with information signs.

We came back and ate Teriyaki chicken. If you like teriyaki chicken, please let me know. I have an easy recipe.

Around 8 pm, we went to the fishing bridge looking for animals. John saw a few birds. I saw a beaver about 10 feet from me. The beaver looked right at me as it crossed under the bridge. Of course, this was the one time I didn’t have a camera, only binoculars. John has a picture of the beaver, but it’s not a good one. Primarily because the picture was focused on a bird and the beaver swam by.

I thought the sunset was a pretty with the clouds and sun mixing.

This was another great day in paradise!
