  • Tooth Extraction

Normal, IL, August 2026 The first post about Mackie’s ordeal was called Sick Little Kitty. This article is all about the tooth extraction. Rarely do you find vets that primarily focus on cats. We have a wonderful cat only vet in Tulsa, Oklahoma called Feline Specialties. We could not find a cat only vet in…

  • Sick Little Kitty

Normal, IL, August 2026 Mackie is our geriatric kitty that’s around 15 years old with only 6 teeth left. A cat with a full mouth of teeth would have 30 teeth. We have been asked multiple times if Mackie eats rocks. He really doesn’t, but he does love to chew on plastic and toys. It…

  • Morning Habits

Wisconsin, August 2026 Everyone has a morning habit. This includes my cats. Cleo’s habit is to wake up, usually before John and myself, look at us, and yell as loud as she can. If we still don’t move, she will lay on my chest for morning petting. If you dare not to pet her (say,…

  • Kitties Enjoying the Great Outdoors

Comlara Park, Hudson, IL, July 2026 We believe Mackie was an outdoor cat before we adopted him. He absolutely loves going outside. Since he’s now a geriatric kitty (15 years old), we don’t let him roam around. Instead, Mackie happily lays in John’s lap and claws his legs. Cleo isn’t a lap cat and prefers…

  • All I want for Christmas is a Taller Step Stool

West Branch State Park, OH, June 2026 Cleo is a “little” over the ideal weight for her size, according to the vet. According to a friend of ours, she is a little “Chonk”. According to Cleo, she barely eats at all. Due to this, she is on a kitty diet that is not making much…

  • Enjoying the Great Outdoors

Hillsdale State Park, KS, Oct 2025 Hillsdale State Park in Kansas has some beautiful full hookup cement pad sites. We had plenty of room to put out the bug tent and take the cats outdoors. Both the cats and us had a great time. Before the tent went up. We put the tent up so…

  • How many hours does a cat sleep per day?

Wilmer, Alabama, March 2026 We have been watching the series “My Cat from Hell” starring Jackson Galaxy the cat behaviorist. The goal of Jackson is to help family keep their cat that they feel is out of control. Fortunately, we do not have out of control cats. The biggest issue is Mackie getting bored and…

  • Making Catbeds: Part 1

Beggs, OK, January 2026 We wanted to get a Christmas Tree cat bed this year, so we could use it as our Christmas tree instead of making one. The Santa Hat cat bed is a bit ragged looking, and it is, well frankly, a bit flaccid. Mrs Claus put in an order for a certain…

  • Christmas Tree

Beggs, OK, December 2025 With trailer life figuring out the best option for a Christmas tree can be challenging. John and I are always looking for something that takes up minimal space and, if possible, is multi-functional. This year we decided on a Christmas tree cat bed (Last year, John made me a cardboard Christmas…

  • Who do you think is enjoying the picnic table more?

Beggs, OK, December 2025 Now that the bench / picnic table has been completed and Mackie has mostly recovered from the tooth removal, it is time to enjoy the great outdoors. Mackie is not allowed to go roaming the neighborhood. I think he is just about as happy laying on John’s lap, sniffing the air,…
