Updated 7/9/2026 – You could take 58 to 98 to I71. This is not recommended. The road isn’t that great and has an extra in really bad condition railroad track to cross. This route is the best route.

Driving directions focuses on major roads that Semis use. This ensures no weight issues with bridges and height issues with underpasses. We always compare against a trucker’s atlas and review the path on Google or Bing maps first. Spending as much as time as reasonably possible on interstates. Driving Directions:

1. Left onto 58 South
2. Right onto 250 / 58 South
3. Right on 250
4. Right onto 42 / 250 East
5. Left onto 250 (aka East Main Street)
6. Right onto I71 South towards Columbia (6.7 Miles)
7. Exit 119B onto 270 West to go around Columbus (17 miles)
8. Exit 8 onto I70 West (125 miles) – NOTE: Indian interstate is in terrible condition. You’ll need to slow down and pray it doesn’t damage your tires or trailer.
9. Exit 123 onto IN 3. Left onto IN 3 towards New Castle 11 miles
10. Right onto 36E (4 Miles)
11. Left onto N. Messick Rd (1 mile)

• 197 miles – Rest area
• 207 miles Exit 149B – Love (Pull through Hardees)
• 213 miles – Rest Area
• Exit onto IN 3 has a Flying J

Key Comments

• Ohio highways typically don’t have a place to pull off on.
• Indiana roads both interstate and highways are HORRIBLE. Many cracks and potholes. Plan to drive slow and wonder how your tires survived the trip.
• Since Indiana roads are sooo bad…. Carefully open trailer, refrigerator, cabinets, etc. since stuff will fall out and be out of place.
• Railroad tracks in Indiana are also horrific. If two lane road, take the tracks on the left lane not right. Usually these are better. Still bad but not as horrific.

We stayed in Site 26 which is full sun pull through located next to the bathhouse.

Note: the bathhouse water runs yellow. So, we don’t think the water quality is that great.
