Reed Bingham SP, GA: Information

Reed Bingham State Park, GA, April 2026

Park Notes:

  • Look into getting Adventure Pass which provides 1 yr park entrance pass, 2 free camping nights, 10% off and 1 free picnic pavilion reservation. Normal Cost $99. $89 earlier in the year.
  • Campsite does not come with free vehicle entrance. Each vehicle not covered by adventure pass would pay 1-time entrance free ($10) for the entire stay.
  • Lots of gnats in April. Good news the gnats do not bite.
  • April has a lot of birds, gators, gnats (non biting), gopher turtles
  • Has laundry in both loops. Laundry in Loop 2 was cheaper than loop 1.
  • Due to heat, we did not hike a lot of the trails. We did ride our bike. The park roads provide about 5 miles of bike riding.
  • Close to shopping.

Bathroom / Dump Station / Water Stations

  • Dump station was not used due to full hookups.
  • Water pressure and quality were acceptable
  • Bath houses were up to date and in good condition. Though a large spider scared John out of the men’s shower. The north bathhouse has separate men’s and women’s with stalls for showers and restroom. There are two additional shower rooms with external doors.

Internet / Phone Service

  • T-Mobile:
  • Cricket Mobile:
  • Starlink: Many trees through the campground, but they are mostly medium height. Most sites will be partially obstructed.

Park Pictures

We did not take a lot of park pictures. There were a lot of birds, turtles, alligators, and (non-biting) fungus gnats.

Site 38

  • 135 foot pull through gravel site
  • Sharp U-turn left leaving the site, so backing out is mandatory.
  • Utility location and bounding railroad ties make pulling in moderately difficult
  • Reasonably level
  • Only early morning and late evening shade
  • 150 feet to the bath house

Alternate Sites

Many pull through sites. The problem is that quite a few have shared driveways or you have to back out due to the turn being too sharp.

Below are the best guess sites for selection.

  • Site 38 – Unobstructed Starlink – Very Little Shade – Need to back out of site due to exit turn.
  • Site 8 – Starlink Possible for cable long enough – very little shade – Pull Through
  • Site 43 – Partial Starlink – Afternoon Shade – Pull Through
  • Site 34 – Partial Starlink – Some Shade – Pull Through – watchout potential low branches especially if breezy
  • Site 37 – Partial Starlink – Some Shade – Back In
  • Site 19 – Questionable Starlink – afternoon shade – pull through
  • Site 23 – No Starlink – Shaded – Pull Through
  • Site 16 & 18 – No Starlink – no afternoon shade – Pull Through – Loop 1
  • Site 17 – No Starlink – little to no afternoon shade – Back in
  • Site 11 – In the woods, no Starlink – Shaded – Back in
  • Site 10 – No Starlink – Shaded – Has live oak with moss (gnats) – Back in
