Three River State Park, FL, April 2026
Part 1 was all about the animals. This is all about the selfies and information boards.
When we left the trailer, I was surprised to see a dead bird next to our power station. After looking around, I found feather splatted on our bedroom slide. The dead bird made me think of Dad’s house. Dad keeps the front bay window open to watch the birds. The wall across from the window has a large mirror. So, the birds see themselves and fly into the mirror. This doesn’t always result in death. Sometimes the birds just knock themselves silly.

The trail was just outside our trailer. I didn’t take a selfie just before the trail, but did as we entered. As you can see, John had already found an interesting critter to take a picture of.

The trail was very wooded with lots of birds and bridge.

We finally made it to the end of the trail which was the boat ramp and day use river access area.

When we were at the water, we did see a gator off in the distance. Though, I don’t think you can find it in the picture. My hope was proof that we saw a Florida gator. We were able to take a better gator picture at Howell’s Landing. The lake also had an information board on the types of water birds we could see. I noticed the wood duck was on the board and no wood duck was present. It is still on our must see list 🙂

I had to take 1 final selfie before taking the trail back to the camper.
