Both John and I have been to the Lincoln Memorial multiple times. I believe this is a staple that everyone must visit when in DC. As normal, the Lincoln Memorial was crowded both inside and out. I suspect the memorial would be even busier in the summer.

I found the information boards interesting. Which building would you have chosen?

Inside the monument there are quotes and information about the union. On the south wall (left) is the Gettysburg Address, and on north wall (right) is Lincoln’s second inaugural address.

The pool between the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorials was under construction, so the normal great view between the two didn’t look quite as nice.

One interesting person, who really wanted his point of view heard, was a guy riding his bike with signs attached to his bike. Someone fell for the bait and discussed politics with him. We did not.

Personally, we think he needed to broaden his position to include most, if not all, DC politicians.
