Ravenna, OH, June 2026
Currently, we are staying at West Branch State Park which is located by Ravenna, Ohio. My internet search indicated that the “Thrive Together Farmers Market” was every Tuesday from 3 to 6 pm. The farmers market is sponsored by the Portage County Health District and this was the 2nd year of hosting the event. I read reviews from last year which indicated the market was small. See link for more details about the farmers market: https://portagehealth.net/our-programs/thrive-together-farmers-market/
This year appears was much larger than what the internet reviews suggested. 50% of the event was about provided information to the community. The other 50% was vendors selling baked goods, vegetables, jams, knife sharpening, etc. No craft vendors which I though was interesting and different from other farmers markets we have been to.
From the parking lot we noticed “The Slop Truck”. I love the name.

The second thing noticed by John was the Donut Truck.

I focused on all the booths.

The picture below shows the food & trade vendor side. The other side (not in the picture) had all the services, park info, staying healthy info, etc. in the area. I really enjoy the booth that had a stuffed river otter and pelt talking about the local parks. They had a table all about tics and mosquito prevention. Many of the tables were about family, kids, health, teeth brushing skills, everything to know about sanitary water and poop (ok. The vendor didn’t use the word poop, but they were giving out poop stress balls), etc.

Inside the Health Building was additional vendor such as “Ask a Nurse”, Medicare advocates, etc. The inside had drinks and fruit & veggie snack cups.
I collected various things from the booths and purchase a peanut butter chocolate bar. The pictures shows the bar without the pretty ribbon around the package and bite out of the bar. I guess the cookie monster decided he preferred bars vs. cookies.

I found it fun and interesting farmers market because of the booths. I highly recommend this market to anyone visiting the area.
