Wellington, OH, June 2026

Park Information

  • Friends of the park are very active. Weekly ice cream social and events to raise money to improve park. This includes free rental of outdoor games.
  • Campground has 50 amp and full hookup sites
  • Lots of extra activities: Weekly led naturalist events, hiking, pickle ball, archery range, beach area, Frisbee golf, etc.
  • Well maintained park
  • The park Visitor Center, Museum and camp store is large and well stocked. Including scoop ice cream and package ice cream treats.
  • Roads are in reasonably good condition.
  • Bikes can be ridden on at least 3 miles of roads within the mark.
  • Abundant poison ivy in the wooded area of the park and along the side of trails.

Bathrooms / Dump Station / Water Stations

  • 2 bathhouses located in the middle between the loops. Large showers with hooks for towels. Interior floors are in good condition but tend to be wet due to lack of good ventilation. The showers have hot but not scalding water. Bathroom sinks were clean.
  • Each bathhouse has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Cost = $1.50 each
  • Potable water spigot are located just past the dump stations.
  • 2 large dump stations with easy access and pit toilet located next to them. The visitor center is within walking distance of the dump station and has flush toilet
  • Throughout the part are gray water dump stations.

Internet / Phone service:

  • Tmobile hotspot has poor service. Not good for TV or gaming
  • Cricket Mobile good download speed (>20), bad upload (@1), with ping around 40 ms.
  • Starlink: Some tree infringing but unobstructed view. Doable for gaming.

Site 224 Details

  • Fairly easy site to back into
  • Located near the bathhouse. The extra vehicle can park in the bathhouse parking lot.
  • 50 Amp only.
  • No slide concerns with hitting 50 amp outlet
  • Parts of the trailer will be shaded throughout the day. The office slide will be shaded in afternoon. Good site for hot days.
  • Biggest concern are the trees in the back of the site with dead branches that would hang over trailer if we parked in the gravel area. Parking more to the center of the site (off the gravel) solves the tree concern.
  • Water pools on both sides of the site.
  • Poison ivy in wooded area around the site. Though this is true for all sites in the park.

Park Pictures
