The prior post had John’s pictures including the very scary and creepy spiders. Those spiders are the reason why I’m scared of spiders even the tiny ones. John offered the pictures to the park and the park was worried the post would scare campers and visitor away. I’m not the only one who doesn’t like spiders.

These pictures came from my phone with lots of selfies, because what else am I to do while John is taking pictures. Oh wait.. I’m suppose to pay attention and be ready to help John. I have proof that I did help him. My job was holding the camera lens.

You will notice I am wearing two different shirts. No I did not change on the trail. The first day (left picture) we hiked the entire trail. The second day (right picture) we went back to take picture of flowers with a different camera. Please note that I helped John both days. 🙂

First thing about the trail was stay away from trail edge on the water side. The edge has a cliff that drops between 5 and 20 feet to the water below. If you fell, you would most likely hit the rocks and have tons of bruises vs. into the water.

We did not start at the trail head. Instead, we started at the parking post by the spillway. No fancy trail head signs here.

The trail was about 1.5 miles long and not very rough and shaded.

The first half of the trail traversed along the waters edge.

The second part was the interior woods. We saw various wildlife including rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks. Unfortunately no pictures. Though a chipmunk was within 5 feet of Johns hand and ran away squealing.

The next pictures were taken when John started taking pictures of the flowers. My job was to assist when needed and try to pay attention. I did not do a great job of paying attention when nothing was needed. I started focusing on selfies, pictures of John, etc. 🙂

As we continued down the trail, we finally came to the actual trail head that was along the road with no parking. What I really liked was the sign indicating no motored vehicles including electric bikes on the trail. The reason I like this was that bikes can sometimes ruin a trail, make the path uplevel, or you have to step to the side of the trail full of weeds and potential for spiders, poison ivy, etc.

Instead of going to the car and back to the trailer, we went to the spillway. John let me go first to see the birds. Last time, he went first and all the birds first flew away before I could really see them.

The next day we went back to the trail with different camera gear. I asked John to take pictures of the 3 mm flowers. I want to point out that I helped John by not only taking pictures of the plant with my camera to help with identification but also holding his lens. I’m an awesome hiking partner. 🙂

Like before, I kept myself entertained by taking pictures of the surrounding area and John’s camera gear setup.

Afterwards back to the car.

Since the park just mowed, we felt this was a perfect day for the park sign picture. Then home to relax, cool off and enjoy the afternoon.
