Sparta, WI, September 2026

This was the first family reunion in many years. Covid really put a damper on getting together along with the families growing and spreading out across the country.
This year, we went to Memorial Park and rented the pavilion next to the new playground. The pavilion had many things going for it, such as a new large playground and flush toilets!! The prior reunions only had a port-a-pot and small playground.
The turnout was fantastic. In total, 35 people showed up with lots of awesome food.
Kolby, Steve’s stepson, volunteered to take the group picture. Since Kobly was not in the group picture, I wanted to dedicate a picture to Kolby and express my appreciation.

I had quite a few group photos. In the photo below, some folks had a slightly different pose.

John and I arrived early to move tables around, wash the tables, sweep, and setup.

Pictures of everyone catching up.

Dawson brought a corn hole game. The pavilion was right next to Perch Lake. Folks tried their luck at fishing. I didn’t see anyone catch a fish. The kids had fun playing on and around the lake fences.

The playground was a big hit.

Wrestling can occur anywhere and does not require a playground or fence. It is just 2 good buddies battling it out. Ryker says he wants to be a football player. I think he should also consider wrestling :-).

Anyone who knows me, I am a little obsessed with selfies. I take them everywhere. Often if I don’t include a selfie in a post, Dad would later ask “Where’s the selfie?”

We were joined by Debby’s puppy and butterflies. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the butterflies.

Overall, the family reunion was a hit and I had a wonderful time. I would like to to thank everyone for bringing a dish to pass and Steve / Cameron for cooking the meat. You should plan on another event in a couple years.
